Wm. Mason & Company was a prominent machinery manufacturer in Taunton, Massachusetts, in 1850, known primarily for producing textile equipment. The company was still several years away from producing its famous steam locomotives and was focused on other industrial machinery at the time.
William Mason (1808-1883) founded the company in 1843.
