Letter addressed to Henry Dilworth Gilpin (1801-1860), attorney and councilor, at 99 Walnut Street (1846 McElroy’s). He served as Attorney General of the US under President Van Buren, and presented the Government’s side of the Amistad case to the Supreme Court.
