Feb 26 1846 9X1a Position 32. Sent to Vergennes. The blue manuscript cancel ties the stamp to the circular / letter. This is one of the more interesting of the NY Provisionals sent to Vermont, as it consists of an 11 by 17 inch piece of paper folded in half and one half is a printed circular of a wholesale grocer with a business message printed below it.
Philip Crosby Tucker was a lawyer who practiced in Vergennes Vermont from 1824 until he died in 1861.
