They Are Genuinely Used On Cover And THE STAMPS HAVE MANUSCRIPT CANCELLATIONS MOSTLY REMOVED.

5c Black on pelure (11X7) , two, position 1 and 3, both with large margins, manuscript cancel removed, lifted and reaffixed, tied by faint red St. Louis datestamp on docketed Jan 7, 1847 folded cover to Thomas H. Benton (great uncle of the artist). Dubuque Iowa, red Paid and manuscript ˜10' rate, light file fold, extremely fine appearance, the Third Printing on pelure is very rare and seldom found on covers of this quality. ex Caspary. Est. $10,000 “ 12,000.
