Position 16, initials in black, large margins to clear incl. sheet margin at left, tied by red square grid and also by red circular datestamp on April 1847 folded letter to East Hampton Conn., overall toning, vertical file fold away from stamp, still Very Fine, choice use of the rare Gray Paper, signed Piller.

Note: CDS on stamp is upside down. In sale 841, Siegel interpreted the inverted MAR as JUN. In sale 834, they interpreted it as APR.
In the enlarged images of the CDS, both show the last letter is R and there is no evidence that the middle letter is a P (spacing from R is too narrow). The CDS away from the stamp clearly shows an 8 and the first letter has a vertical edge on the left (as in M, not A).
