Thomas S. Searle (1820-1879) was a graduate of Hamilton College (class of 1845) aqnd taught at the Stouchsburg Academy in Pa. He Married Mary Ann Moore (1818-1889) in 1848.
Of the 4 Searles listed in the 1843 edition of Doggett's, the one that stands out as a letter writer is Philip N. Searle, consul of Portugal. He was married to Maria Louise Stewart (de Labigarre). (I have not been able to find details on Thomas' father and whether he was Philip's brother. There is, however, a Samuel Searle listed as a graduate of Hamilton College in 1820.)
