The 1842-43 edition of Doggett’s lists Alexander von Pfister at 15 Laight Street. In 1845 they list Isaac S. Loyd. In 1846 they list Herman Thorn. Therefore, this cover was most likely mailed in Sept 1844
Isaac S. Loyd is referred to as a speculator of real estate in Philadelphia in 1836. (Historic Buildings & Mansions of Phila., p452), with particular mention of the Lemon Hill estate. He is also mentioned having dealings in NYC as early as Oct 1838. He is listed in the 1880 Federal Census as married to Emma Loyd and father to Howard Long, born 1874 in NYC.
