John Stevens Cabot Abbott (September 19, 1805 – June 17, 1877), an American historian, pastor, and pedagogical writer. He was associate with his brother Jacob Abbott (1803-1879) in the management of Abbott’s Institute in NYC, a collegiate institution for the education of young ladies located at 260 Greene Street. Jacob was a founder and the Principal from 1843 to 1851.
There are 35 entries with the surname Day in the 1851 Newark NJ City Directory. It is easy to assume that Eliza B. Day was a student at the Abbott Institute.
