Letter sent to Mrs. E. Shaw care of George Anderson. The 1845 Doggett’s NYC directory lists an Elizabeth Shaw, widow of Thomas, at 71 Stanton.
George Anderson may have been John Goerge Anderson (died Mar 1, 1858 aged 48), Yale Class of 1830, who “entered College from St. Augustine, Florida. He settled in Tallahassee, where he was extensively and prosperously engaged in commerce, as a partner in the house of Smallwood, Anderson & Co., of New York City.”
