Joseph Smith Dodge (1806-1893) was a dentist (1845 Doggett’s). He was the son of Rev. Nehemiah Dodge of Lebanon Conn. Joseph moved to NYC in 1828 and was one of only 4 dentists in the city. He developed a very large practice and later helped establish the New York College of Dentistry.
