Robert A. Siegel sale 1088 realized 3000 dates the cover as 1842 because (1) the orange red cancelling ink was only used in 1842 and (2) 6LB3 was replaced by other printings before Sept 1843

Rufus Wilmot Griswold (Feb 13, 1815 – Aug 27, 1857) was an editor, poet and critic. He is probably best known for his 1842 anthology The Poets and Poetry of America. In 1837 he was licensed as a Baptist clergyman, although he never had a permanent congregation.
