Thomas Bond, Jr. is listed as involved in dry goods at No 27 Williams Street (1843 Doggett’s). Also listed at this address are Jacob Paige and Edward Kellogg. Note – Doggett’s lists the business as Paige, Bond & Kellogg.
Message on back reads “Will see you this afternoon. ??? D. E. B.”. Doggett’s does not list anyone matching D. E. Bartlett indicating that the letter was written by a woman.
Thomas Bond, Jr.(1813-1872) was the son of Thomas Emerson Bond (1788-1856), physician, Episcopal Minister, editor of the Christian Advocate and Journal in New York City (1840-48, 1852-56), and member of the Board of Trustees of Dickenson College in Carlisle Pennsylvania. The son was a secretary of the New York Bible Society (1845 and 1846 editions of Doggett’s)
