(1846) integral-rate circular datestamp with matching "Paid" arc handstamp on folded produce prices current to Palmyra N.Y., some minor cover wear, Fine use, Palmyra is just over 300 miles from New York, necessitating the double rate.

While it is true that Palmyra NY (located between Syracuse and Rochester on Route 31, about 13 miles south of my hometown of Williamson, NY) is slightly more than 300 miles from NYC, this letter is written to Walker Louthan & Co in Palmyra, Missouri.
Walker Louthan (1799-1875) was a '49er, real estate investor in both Hannibal and Palmyra, and in 1869 the fourth richest person in the county.
