Lot 20 5 cent black, signed ACM, connected (9X1) a gorgeous horizontal pair with remarkably large even margins all around, bright fresh color and crisp impression, tiny scissors cut in margin only between stamps at top, right stamp with skillfully pressed out file fold not mentioned on the accompanying certificate, cancelled by two light strikes of Red square grid on 1846 folded letter to Columbia SC, partial matching New York / 29 Dec / 10 cts. Postmark and PAID in arc. Fresh and extremely fine. Clear 1988 P. F. Certificate. Catalog $2,150.
