Lot 1617 5c black (9X1) pos 36-37 horizontal pair, left stamp with top frame recut, large margins to just in at R, tied by blue ms cancel on May 1845 (no, 1846) folded letter to Canada, red New York '10 cts May 31' ds and matching ˜Paid' arc hs, Toronto arrival ds on front, fine and scarce foreign usage, with PF certificate

PF 14267 9X1 on bluish, signed ACM, positions 36-37, left stamp top frame recut
The Queenston exchange postmark is not easily readable but an 1845 use cannot be right since the stamp was not issued until July 15, 1845. In a private communication, Stanley Piller informed me that the year of mailing was 1846 and the caption was an known error.
