cover New York, N.Y., 5c Black on bluish, 'ACM' connected (9X1), two average singles (pos. 37, 38 - from adjacent positions), ample margins to slightly in, apparently uncancelled, affixed to April 22, 1846 folded letter to Florida, contents mention sale of slaves to repay a debt, cover has ms 'postage paid' in the hand of the sender, red 'New-York 5 cts 24 Apr' c.d.s. with matching 'Paid' in arc h.s., as both stamps are apparently uncancelled they may not belong, however, one stamp is actually 'tied' by a cover file fold which causes minor edge faults, otherwise very good-fine, offered strictly as is, since while possibly properly used, the cover may be philatelicly unprovable, Scott retail of two unused stamps is $2,600.00, Scott retail of a pair used on cover is $2,000.00 photo
