Feb. 25" circular datestamp on blue folded letter to Philadelphia, second strike of "Paid" handstamp at right, matching "5" in circle handstamp, two vertical file folds incl. one affecting adhesive which has been lifted and placed back on the cover
VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A SCARCE ON-COVER EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT BALTIMORE POSTMASTER'S PROVISIONAL ON BLUISH PAPER. ONE OF THE VERY FEW BALTIMORE PROVISIONAL COVERS WITH THE STAMP TIED BY THE TOWN DATESTAMP.
