Letter datelined Washington 25 Sept 1850 and is signed G. H. McDuell.
The Washington DC 1850 city directory lists G. H. McDuel (sp?) as a clerk at the north side of L Street between 9th and 10th Streets.
George Henry McDuell (c1825-1853) is documented as a clerk and operated a wood yard in Washington. Further, records show that he and his brother Robert McDuell had family and land dealings in Frederick County Maryland, just outside of Baltimore.
Letter to Mrs. Rusk at 180 E. Fayette Street in Baltimore c/o Wm. Rusk.
The 1850 Matchett Baltimore city directory lists William Rusk (c1790-1874) as a butcher at that address. William Rusk was married to Margaret (McDuell) Rusk (c. 1797-1884).
