Charles Storer Storrow (1809-1904) was chief engineer and agent of the Boston and Lowell Railroad. In 1845 he was hired by Abbott Lawrence to become treasurer, agent, and chief engineer of the Essex Company, a land and waterpower company, in Lawrence, Mass,, to develop a textile city along the Merrimack River. Storrow helped develop the city of Lawrence and became its first mayor in 1853.
