Letter addressed to Aaron Porter Hughes (1815-1864). Honorable Aaron P. Hughes first learned the carpenter's trade, and while at work upon the present church in Windham, he met with an accident, by which he lost his arm. He then studied law in Nashua, in the office of the late Hon. Aaron F. Sawyer, remaining about four years; was admitted to the bar in 1843, and was very successful during his eighteen years of practice. Under President Taylor he was appointed postmaster of Nashua. He was elected to the legislature in 1854, 1860 and 1861.
