Lot 1554 (1b) 1847 5¢ Orange brown bottom margin horizontal pair franked on a letter dated Aug. 7, 1847. Tied with a couple neat blue grid cancel cancels. Blue Philadelphia Aug 9 10cts cds at upper right. 2001 AS certificate states, "Scott 1b, orange brown, used pair on cover, genuine in all respects. Cover has a bit of toning. The margins of the right stamp of the pair are cut in slightly at upper and lower right, the margins of the left stamp are cut in slightly at upper left. The catalog stated is for a used pair.
