From a Nov 1, 1843 Advertisement: “This establishment situated near the intersection of Whitesboro and Genesee Streets …[is] one of the oldest tavern stands in this section of the State, has lately been opened for the reception of guests, under the supervision of the proprietor, James McGregor… the accommodations it affords…the traveling public…good fare, prompt attendance, and commodious, well lighted, and well ventilated, to make it their home during their stay in the city…”
