Eliza Ann Carpenter (April 6, 1826 – Jan. 1886) married Jonathan Ross in St. Johnsbury, Vt. on Nov 22, 1852. Both were born in Waterford, Vermont. They had 8 children.
Jonathan Ross (April 30, 1826 – February 23, 1905) was a nineteenth-century politician, lawyer and judge from Vermont. He served as Chief Justice of the Vermont Supreme Court and as United States Senator from Vermont. He was a graduate of Dartmouth College, in Hanover NH, in 1851.
