Frederick Adolphus Packard (Sept 26, 1794 - 1867), the son, graduated at Harvard College, 1814; studied law, and commenced practice in Springfield, which place he represented in the Legislature in 1828. Removed to Philadelphia in 1829; took the editorial management of the publications of the American Sunday-School Union. In 1847 he was elected President of Girard College, and has received from Princeton the degree of LL.D
