Lot 77 Two small clean covers from a correspondence to Saml. L.Gardiner, Esq., Sag Harbor, Long Island. One cover is franked by a very fine copy of the 5c grayish brown tied by perfect full strike of red STEAMER 5 in oval and repeated on the buff envelope. the other is franked by a superb large margined copy of the 10c in oval, repeated on the small neat folded cover. These gems form an extraordinary pair and are a showpiece for the 1847 or cancellation specialist.
