Letter to Harriet Wood (1830-1875), a resident of Malone, Franklin County, New York, daughter of Arunah Hyde Wood (1787–1871) and his second wife, Emeline Bartlett Wood (1789–1865).
Harriet married Zebina Kellogg Pangborn on August 19, 1852, in Malone by the Reverend Ashbel Parmelee. At the time of their marriage, Zebina (age 26) was serving as the preceptor (principal/teacher) of the Malone Academy and originally hailed from Johnson, Vermont. (Johnson is about 45 miles NE of Burlington.)
Zebina attended UVM in Burlington in March of 1848 and 1849. He worked in Montpelier in March of 1850 and in Johnson in March of 1851. He probably did not meet Harriet until he moved to Malone in the spring of 1851.
