Robert North Moale (1771-1852) was a lawyer of the Chancery Court in Baltimore. He owned and lived at Green Spring, a 700+ acre estate that he gave the Baltimore & Susquehanna Railroad a right of way to lay tracks in 1832. He also sold off 69 acres to build a depot and the Green Spring Hotel.
