Letter addressed to the Providence Conference Seminary in East Greenwich, RI. In 1839, the Kent Academy (founded in 1802) ceased to be the property of a corporation and passed into the hands of Rev. Daniel G. Allen, A.M., who sustained it with admirable energy and success for a few months, when it was purchased by the Providence Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and received the name -- Providence Conference Seminary.
