The Columbus Machine Manufacturing company was commenced by Charles Ambos and James Lennox, in 1849. It was designated by the name of "Eagle Foundry," and the firm by that of Ambos & Lennox. After continuing the business until the spring of 1854, they sold out for upwards of $68,000; and it was converted into a joint stock company, by its present name.
