Lot 73 #1, 5c Red Brown, huge margins all around showing bit of next stamp at right, rich color and sharp impression, tied by blue Alby & Buffalo RR Feb 15 pmk on 1849 folded letter to Hon Millard Fillmore / Washington DC, the stamp is also tied by ms 5 Due (over 300 miles), faint pressed out filing crease through stamp, Extremely fine appearance, a beautiful scarce cover.

PF 97374 Sep 17, 1 red brown with ironed out crease, genuine use on cover
The original reviewer for the PF got the date wrong. The top bar of the 5 and the oval surrounding Franklin gave them the impression of a 7 (possibly overwriting a 6 formed from the lower portion of the actual 5) and the slightly underinked B in FEB was confused for a P. The cds date is FEB 15.
