Rev William McCombs (1803-1854) became pastor of the Champion Presbyterian Church in New Lisbon in 1839. In 1849 he gave part of his time to the Canfield Church and resided in Salem Ohio until he retired from ill health in 1852. His second wife, and the addressee of this letter, was Mary B. Morgan.
