1847 10c black Washington (Scott #2) single tied by lightly struck blue Philadelphia 10cts integral-rate circular date stamp cancel on a nice folded cover sheet sent to Lexington, Kentucky. Accompanying blue Philadelphia integral circular date stamp repeated at top right. The stamp features a crisp color and ample to large margins all around - small gum staining at sides, but not detracting from the appearance/quality of the cover or stamp. 1847 Issue stamps tied exclusively by circular date stamp cancels are much less common than those tied by grid or manuscript pen cancels.
