The name is somewhat common; being also associated with an attorney, an artist in St. Louis, the Mayor of Logan, Ind, and others. The attorney was born in 1834 so attributing this cover to him is difficult but it’s possible he was apprenticing with E. D. Morgan & Co. in 1850
