“Note that the current census information lists the cover as addressed to Loni W. Baird, but the addressee appears to be a poorly written Jane. There are two additional covers to a Jane W. Baird in Steubenville in the census. The reverse of the cover has no postal markings, but there is a pencil note "writer died Oct 14, 1851. I purchased this cover from Christie's-Robson Lowe auction # 5602, sale RLNY 11, lot 61, 21 June 1984. Net price was $210 ex buyers premium.”
