Ashbrook Bound Book 2, page 76 posted on the USPCS website. Ashbrook noted that this was originally a stampless cover and had a stamp added later. The 7 cts in circle cancellation was applied in Troy NY and indicated the 2 cent Steamboat charge in addition to the 5 cent overland charge to Schenectady.
Cover initialed H.W.C. which may indicate Warren Howard Colson, a famed stamp dealer and expertiser, although he usually initialed W. H. C.
