It Is A Genuine Usage ON PRE-TREATY COVER WITH HORIZONTAL TEAR IN COVER NOT AFFECTING THE STAMP

TRANSATLANTIC COVER TO G.B. WITH 1st-ISSUE 10c BLACK TIED BY BLUE "SYRACUSE/N.Y." GRID; 29 Aug. 1847 env. (slight toning and minor wear) to London "Pr. Cambria" franked for the internal U.S. rate (endorsed "Pd to Boston") by a 1st-Issue 10c Black (4 close to good margins) tied by a very fine blue barred grid matching the v. fine "10" in circle and v. fine "SYRACUSE/N.Y." c.d.s. nearby; charged "1/-" on arrival in G.B. with 14 Sept. London arrival backstamp. One of only 4 10c covers (also the earliest and the only one to overseas) recorded from this Post Office. Exhibition Item. [With PF 1985 Certificate of Genuineness.]
