Lot 1138 1847, 10¢ black (2), position 90R, ample to large margins, handsome shade, tied by twice-struck red square grids, matching "New-York May 2" on 1849 folded letter with faint Swarts Post Office, oval in orange red, and additional 'Letters for N.York City/Direct To" etc. on flap; lettersheet with light even toning which has affected the markings, however stamp is Very Fine, a very scarce usage.
