PSE Certificate 1408906 (4/18/22) - genuine use
Letter docketed “From Fryatt & Cambel”. The 1848 edition of Doggett’s lists Horatio N. Fryatt as a merchant at 151 Front Street but no mention of a Mr. Cambel. The 1843 edition of Doggett’s lists Fryatt & Campbell as commission merchants at 145 and 147 Frost Streets, specializing as agents of Belleville white lead, windows, paints, etc. Also listed at the same address is George W. Campbell. In the 1846 edition they are listed as Fryatt, Campbell & Co.
Based on these listings, this is probably an 1847 usage.
Peter Breasted (1787-1853) of Catskill, NY operated the Hill paint store and was a glazier.
