Lot 334 2L2, 1850 Adams City Express Post, New York, 2¢ black on buff single, large margins all around, uncancelled on small neat cover franked with 5¢ red brown (Scott 1) to pay the postage to Waterford NY, light strike of red "NEW YORK AUG 24" date stamp at upper left, Extremely scarce usage as seven or less examples exist on cover, all but one of which is uncancelled; Very Fine usage; 2016 Philatelic Foundation certificate which states that it is a genuine stamp and a genuine cover declines opinion as to whether the Scott 2L2 originated (Scott $5,000 as an unused stamp).
