Lot 31 #1, 5c Brown, large even margins all around, rich color and fine early printing impression, some light soiling, tied by red square grid to cover to Albany, N.Y., used in combination with Boyd's City Express 2c Black on green (#20L4, two tiny tears in the right margin), tied by red "New York/Feb 15" datestamp, cover with a horizontal file fold, very fine and scarce conjunctive use; the 2c Boyd's is seldom found tied by a postmark when used with the 5c 1847 issue; unlisted in the Alexander census.
