Letter possibly to Henry Shenkel Van de Carr (1827-1897). Henry was a prominent Paper Manufacturer. He owned and operated a brick straw wrapping paper mill in the town of Stockport along the creek. In addition to his manufacturing business, he was highly active in local government, serving for several years on the county's Board of Supervisors representing the town of Stockport.
