AND WE ARE OF THE OPINION THAT
It Is A Genuine Usage With A FRAUDULENT RED "PACKAGE/ THREE" HANDSTAMP
Alexander listed as 3/19/51
Lot 109 #1 5c Red Brown, three large margins to touching at top, tied by red square grid cancel on 1851 folded letter to Middletown, Conn., matching New York MAR 19 postmark, top left corner of stamp placed over edge of cover and creased. Fine. Est. 400-500
Sotheby's sale S-59 realized 200
The "Package Three" marking is similar to that on all the covers in this correspondence and probably refers to storage sometime over the past 160 years.
