Note – may duplicate 1/10/1849 listing. Cover description matches 1849 image and Blake had probably already moved to California by 1841.
Letter addressed to Charles Thompson Blake (1826-1897), graduate of Yale in New Haven and went to California during the gold rush. After several years working a claim, he went to work for Wells Fargo Express Company. He married Harriet Stiles in 1868 and they lived in San Francisco and Berkeley.
