Solomon Caldwell is listed as a clerk working on Broadway (firm not mentioned) in the 1849 edition of Doggett’s.
Albert Farley Heard (1833-1890) was a student at Yale at the time this letter was sent. He graduated in 1853 and entered the family business of Augustine Heard & Co, commission merchants trading in China.
