One design printed in three colors was used at N. Y. City for carrier service. This rose stamp was not cancelled but it is tied by the N. Y. postmark. It is also known printed on yellow and buff paper.
Listed as #6 on rose paper “ July 6 18xx. Not canceled but tied by NY postmark to Troy NY
Lot 215 5c Brown 91) mostly large margins, tied by red New York 5 cts cds on turquoise envelope to Troy with New York Carrier 1c black on rose (6LB9) tied by light pencil X & faint gum stains, cover without flap and small stains, fine and colorful, from the Miss Hodges correspondence, from with other carrier usages are known

They Are Genuinely Used On Cover With EDGE STAINING, AND A LIGHTENED PENCIL CANCELLATION ON THE CARRIER STAMP
