Lot 1182 1847, 5¢ red brown (No. 1), four margins, pen cancel removed, tied by bold "New-York 5cts. 6 Oct" c.d.s. on 1848 folded letter from Troy N.Y. to Philadelphia Pa., matching incoming New York City "STEAM BOAT" straightline; contents bleed thru, otherwise Very Fine appearance, the use of this postmark with the steamboat handstamp is most unusual.
