Letter datelined New York June 20, 1848 and written to Cuz Sarah. The cover owner (Kyeezee, in Belgium) informed me that the letter is signed Cousin Frank.
Sarah Blanchard Rogers (1819-1897) was the daughter of Josiah Rogers, Jr. (1786-1866) and Mehitable (Blanchard) Rogers (1790-1834). Sarah married Dr. Augustus Mason in Dec 1850. Dr. Mason was from Waltham, Mass and graduated from Harvard in 1844.
Josiah's and Mehitable's brothers and sisters all lived in Massachusetts. Google AI was unable to find a cousin of Sarah's living in NYC but did suggest his last name was either Blanchard (Sarah's mother's maiden name) or Rogers.
The 1848 edition of Doggett's lists a Francis Rogers as a laborer living at 152 Ninth Ave and a Francis G. Rogers, a grocer, living at 152 South Street with a home in Jersey City.
