5c Orange Brown, three large margins, tied by circular red grid to folded cover (one internal flap missing) from New York to Bordeaux, FRANCE. Letter should have left on the "Cumbria" but went on the "Hibernia" instead, two French markings on face incl. entry and ART.13., arrival bs BORDEAUX 21 MARS 48. Carried on the Cunard ship Hibernia departing 26 February arriving in Liverpool 8 March. The letter was charged 20 decimes due, 10 decimes for British packet service and 10 decimes for French mails carried between 220 and 750 kilometers.
