368 1st-ISSUE 5c ON COVER FROM NEW YORK TO NEW HAVEN WITH MENTION OF "UNMAILABLE MATTER"; 14 Oct. 1847 EL (family contents inc. a PS ref. a letter for New Haven being "...here for Mary from Reeve containing some unmailable matter..."!?) from "NEW-YORK" (mainly fine red c.d.s. in opposite corner to the stamp) to "New Haven Ct." franked by an 1847 5c Red-Brown (4 good margins but close at one of the corners which are unusually cut; light filing fold) cancelled by three blue ink pen-strokes.
