Lot 2236 5c Red Brown (1). Horizontal pair, full margins to just touched at top, cancelled by manuscript, orange-red Brooklyn N.Y. June 10 circular datestamp on 1850 folded letter to Belle River Mich., tiny scissors-cut between stamps and left stamp tiny tear at top right, cover with expert repair including removal of water staining at left below stamps, still Very Fine, scarce, this is one of only eight 1847 covers used from Brooklyn and only two of those bear more than one stamp, illustrated and described in an article in Chronicle 195, Aug. 2002 (copy accompanies), with 1997 P.F. certificate E. 300-400
